Read Quietly In The Attic

If you are an avid reader, then you know that a quiet spot and a nice comfortable chair with your favorite book in hand is all you need to get into the reading mood. However, with all the activities going on inside the house, a peaceful area is hard to find. If you happen to live in a house where there is an attic, it may be a good idea to transform it into a reading room or a library. Here is how you can do it.

4 Easy Steps

Step#1: Light up the room

As the attic is conveniently located at the topmost level of the house, getting a good light source is cheap and easy. You just have to open up the windows and voila, instant light. Nevertheless, you have to ensure that there is a powerful light up there in case you want to read at night so invest in lamps or overhead bulbs.

Step#2: Buy Comfy Sofa/Chair

Because you are an avid reader, you know how important it is to have a comfortable chair where you can snuggle up with a blanket while reading your favorite novel. Go and buy yourself that cushy sofa you have been eyeing for months and place it in your attic turned reading room.

Step#3: Put shelving for your books

Even if you read using a Kindle, Nook, or any other device for your eBooks, nothing beats the look, feel, even the smell of a genuine book. If you are a real reader, you probably own a novel, and to store it properly, you definitely need shelves.

Step#4: Place a desk

Reading on a rainy or cold day? If so, you surely need that hot drink. To avoid spilling it, place it on your desk. Aside from that, you can also use the desk to place your laptop, notes, and other things.

A quiet and cozy room is all you need for reading, and you can find all that in the attic. That room can also be used as a place of gathering or meeting when you have your book club or friends over. Upon doing the said steps, reading your book will become an epic experience.
